Open Wings

Is it not silly and sensational?

We board the skyboat,
finding seats and storage spaces,
and passages to places away and back,

our lives held in open wings
and massive motors,
lifted aloft by laws of physics
that defy our bodies…

and we are carried off
against the rhythm of the sun,
wreaking havoc on day and night
in order to serve the dreams and desires
or fulfill the duties and deals
in which we have invested our hearts.

We turn our lives around
in a world we barely know
trusting precision and effort
in the crafting of this craft
to bring our wingless form
back to ground...
